Danica Patrick

It is a different NASCAR now than it was when the Intimidator was living up to his nickname.

But the real difference between what Ms Patrick did on Sunday and the big E is that she wrecked herself worse than the guy she was trying to "stand up" to. That's something he hasn't done since he handed Kyle Petty his first win by wrecking DW and rest of the top 4 on the last lap in the mid 80's.
Spent the last year Rocky Mountain Way...

A lot different. Not to get off topic but take the 1982 season for example. 30 years ago there were 30 races. DW won 12 and Bobby Allison won 8 of those 30. The Daytona 500 was won by Allison with a 23 second margin of victory. There were five of the 30 races that were won by a lap or more. What was wrong with that?

Do we really need to get into the differences between the "real" Earnhardt and Dumica?

Not sure which race it was....but remember Earnhardt getting penalized 2 laps for rough driving and still came back and won the race. Also seen Earnhardt on the receiving end of some of those wrecks as well. However those were the good of days of drama in NASCAR and drama sells tickets. Not like the boring stuff they have now.

Its not like there weren't boring races then too. Earnhardt didn't wreck someone EVERY time out. I saw him race at Martinsville in 1997 and he was the one getting lapped and his car didnt have a scratch on it. Bill Elliott making up two laps under green at Talladega will never happen again...LOL
