You can sure see the younger generation vote here. Looks like most of these votes came from fans that didn't know Schiltz.

Apparently you were not into racing back in the 70's & 80's. Schiltz was one of the top guns right up there with Sanger, Roger Dolan, and such. He probably won as many or more races than Eckrich has won.

Now you know the problem we had coming up with 64, not to mention how to seat them. Hopefully this will be fun and not get too many arguements going. :D

Like the idea WYHB and ISC; no real need to complain about seedings or how other people vote...

Once again 72fan, your facts are not justified. Dick Schiltz was a heck of a shoe. He ran real good late 70's early 80's, built his own fast cars and built some fast cars for others most noteable Gary Webb, but he in no way won as many features in those few years that Denny Eckrich has during his time racing. With all due respect to Dick he just never ran long enough to put up those kind of numbers.

Now this is just the type of talk we were hoping for with this topic.

I have total respect for Denny Eckrich and his brothers also. However, has there ever been a bounty put on Denny because he was winning too many consecutive feature races like there was put on Schiltz? Now that in itself should say something about Schiltz even though he didn't have a very long career, before he left for North Carolina to work for a nascar team. I believe it was Charlie Schwartz, but not real sure, that finally claimed the bounty. No one in Iowa could get it done.

I think 72fan is making memories up. So Charlie Swartz came to Iowa to pick up a bounty on Schiltz huh? What track was that?
